CALIFORNIA LION -- Mariposa 'Chronicle' -- A large California Lion was
killed a few days since, by Mr. ASHWORTH, at his ranch on the Chowchilla.
The day previous he had killed and carried off a hog weighing about 150
pounds. He measure 8 feet in length and his weight was estimated at about
250 pounds.
